Chevron Lobby

Overview:

Client:

Our client was tasked with creating an interactive environment that relied heavily on water physics to have the following: All 4 seasons, reference the local weather forecast for daily changes, and physically displacing water around pawns that were controlled via external tracking detection.

The Problem

The client required Technical Artist skillsets that knew how to handle water physics for real-time interaction inside Unreal engine.

They also needed a way to reference the local weather forecast to update with the daily forecast in order to change the type of weather inside the engine itself.

Our Solution

We developed a level that met the visual standards of the client and was able to dynamically change based on the forecast. We created a functionality that checked the Weather.Gov API that would pull the data from the customer’s local forecast and update the following conditions: Sunny, Stormy, Windy, Peaceful, Blizzard and Overcast.

The Results

The end result was a fantastic example of what can be done when you seamlessly blend artistic direction and design with engineering innovation to make a mundane hallway into something unforgettable.
